Can a Mezzanine Floor be installed in my existing warehouse or factory?

Yes — the vast majority of our mezzanine floor installations are in existing occupied buildings, not new-build facilities. Our engineers will survey your existing space, assess ceiling height, floor slab condition, column positions and structural constraints, then design a fully freestanding mezzanine structure that requires no modifications to your existing building. Freestanding mezzanine floors bear entirely on the ground floor slab and do not load the existing building structure. Installation can typically be carried out without interrupting your ongoing warehouse or factory operations.

What is the minimum ceiling height required for a Mezzanine Floor?

As a general guide, a minimum clear height of around 4.5–5 metres is required in the existing building to accommodate a functional mezzanine floor — providing at least 2.4 metres of usable clear headroom both beneath and above the mezzanine deck. Open bar grating is ideal where you need to maximize natural light penetration or air circulation through the deck. Timber overlay (typically 18–22 mm moisture-resistant board) provides a comfortable, professional floor surface for office mezzanines. Concrete screed on profiled steel decking is used for very heavy loads.
